C. chinense. From the Assam region of India, this is a "cousin" to the Bhut Jolokia pepper and is one of the HOTTEST PEPPERS in the world. The fruits look kinda like a stretched out Habanero, about 2 inches long by 1 inch wide. They ripen to an orangy/red.From the ones we have grown the pods are a bit shorter than the Bhut Jolokia. As far as the heat level of these types, it is as hot as reported. Our best plants grew 3 feet tall in 7 gallon containers and gave us lots of nice fruit.
